It used to be that I would go to Margaret Drive to partake only 2 items – chicken rice and guo tie. Now it’s only the guo tie that I go for.
The guo tie comes in 2 versions – fried (guo tie) or steamed (shui jiao). Priced at S$4 for 10 pieces, it’s a really must try. I’ve never come across such tasty guo tie at such good price. Their pan-fried Chinese dumplings are stuffed with minced pork and jiu chai (chives) and are done so nicely that they are crispy and do not ooze oil when you bite into them. Dip the dumplings in the special combo of vinegar, ginger strips and chilli sauce and yummy! Guo tie paradise!
Another must try at this stall is their suan la tang (sour and spicy soup). It is both sour and spicy at the same time and is really value for money.
My advice is to call ahead an hour to place your order if you don’t want to wait at least 45 minutes for your guo tie to be ready. Service is friendly and you definitely won’t feel any regrets about eating here.
